Marie Atkinson

18 years ago Marie bought a small paint shop in Kirbymoorside and The Home Decorating Centre was born. While the shop had always sold paint and decorating supplies Marie's background in property renovation meant that she had a different vision for the business. And, happily for local people in and around Kirbymoorside that vision has been more than realised as the shop is now a thriving interiors business with its own fabric room and a wealth of satisfied customers.  

But it was not just a dream of an interiors shop that Marie wanted to make happen. One of the real keys to the success of The Home Decorating Centre is the welcome customers get when they walk through the door. Marie knows a lot of them by name and you can see what an impact she has had on them just by looking at some of the testimonials. Her passion for colour and fabric has transformed hundreds of homes in the local area and she is always on hand to give that personal level of advice that makes all the difference, whether you are a novice decorator or need to renovate a big commercial space. 

The future for the shop is going to be more of the same but expect even more fabrics to choose from in the coming months and more of Marie’s creativity as she takes those fabrics and turns them into unique furnishings for local homes.
